When a collector purchases a work larger than 22x30 inches, they will receive a book of work from the previous year. For example if it is purchased in the year 2016, the hard-covered full-color book is a collection of images from 2015. The Halele'a Gallery kindly gifts them this book that I created. Here are a few images of my studio and myself that I added in the book.
This fall I visited my sister, Kim, who lives in Colorado. With my luck, it was Art Weekend, and the Denver Art Museum was free to the public! Although, the Andrew and Jamie Wyeth Special Exhibit was not free, and was closed to the general public at moment until that evening. Thankfully my sister agreed to come back that evening, and we both agree it was well worth it. Andrew has been one of my all time favorite artists. I studied his techniques in high-school and college. I was fascinated by his level of detail, his distinct color palette, and his stark compositions. I was pretty much breathless throughout the exhibit, I will include a few of my favorite pieces I admired in books that I finally was able to see in person. The exhibit is a beautiful conversation between Andrew and Jamie, father and son. The underlying message was: Paint what inspires you at the moment. Paint what you know and love.
